ABSTRACT

A Descriptive study with cross sectional survey approach was undertaken to assess the knowledge and practice of staff nurses on prevention and control of infection in NICU in selected hospital Moradabad. 60 nurses were selected by convenient sampling method and data were collected from the by using close ended questionnaire schedule, Demographic characteristics reveal that 66.66 % of nurses were in age group of 26 to 30 years, 100 % were them female nurses,66.67% of them were B sc nursing, 65 % of them were having I month to 2 years working experience in NICU, and 83.33% of them were not attended In service education on prevention and control of NICU Infection. The finding show that highest percentage (55 %) of nurses had good knowledge and 100 % of nurses having average practice score. It was found that highest percentage (55% ) of nurses having good knowledge and 45% of nurses had average ,knowledge on prevention and control of infection in NICU.
