ABSTRACT
Background: This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and attitude toward vaginitis among high school students in selected schools in Mangaluru. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used, with purposive sampling selecting 85 students. Data collection involved structured knowledge questionnaires and a 5-point Likert attitude scale. Results: Among the 85 participants, 80 (94.1%) had poor knowledge of vaginitis, and 81 (95.4%) exhibited a neutral attitude. The correlation coefficient (r = -0.178) indicated a weak negative correlation between knowledge and attitude scores (p = 0.103, not statistically significant). Conclusion: The study highlights a lack of awareness regarding vaginitis among high school students. Improving hygiene education and access to affordable sanitary products in low-income areas may help reduce the infection rate..
