A SCOPING REVIEW TO ASSESS EFFECTIVENESS OF ROCK SALT HOT APPLICATION ON LEVEL OF PAIN AMONG GERIATRIC PEOPLE WITH ARTHRITIS - A REVIEW LITERATURE

ABSTRACT

Background: An unpleasant feeling that results from an illness, injury, or emotional disturbance that can fluctuate in intensity is called pain. However, the anguish is more than just bad feelings. An important part of our nervous system is pain. Any condition affecting the joints is commonly referred to as arthritis. Joint stiffness and discomfort are typical symptoms. Because of the higher temperature, a hot application promotes circulation and blood flow, which promotes healing and reduces muscle spasms. Methodology: In order to investigate understanding level of pain among geriatrics, this study carried out an extensive literature review. To ensure relevance and current information, the literature search focused on articles published after 2015 using the PubMed, Google Scholar, and MEDLINE databases. Using keywords the search encompassed all papers published up until March 2022. Studies that were gathered from the designated databases and had easily accessible information on of rock salt hot application on level of pain were included. Articles that were too short or repeated were not included. The goal was to make it simple to find pertinent literature that supported the topic of rock salt hot application on level of pain and to encourage further research initiatives. Results: Twenty-one of the 342 items that twelve were found were duplicates, while another 307 were eliminated for being irrelevant. Individual publications were scored based on a variety of criteria, including the degree of systematic errors, transferability, and precision. This review includes only twenty-one articles that met the cut-off for medium and high quality. The study's objectives, study population, location, research topic, methodology, and results—that is, the obstacles and enabling factors—are among the pertinent details taken from the papers. To determine the obstacles and facilitators of SSH conversations between patients and healthcare providers, data were compiled, mapped, and analyzed.
